Taking Heed Into Compassionate Arms

Updated: Feb 26, 2021

The warrior in your heart says

‘stand your ground’ you’ve got survival of a thousand years of

ancestors in your muscles & your blood right here..

So , you have all the support you need in your bones.

We must be willing to be completely vulnerable returning back to nature..

which means accepting ourselves as we are without trying to become greater, purer, more spiritual, more insightful. If we can accept our imperfections as they are, quite ordinarily, then we can use them as part of the path. But if we try to get rid of our imperfections,

then they will be enemies, obstacles on the road to our 'self improvement’.

I feel the problem is whether we are determined to go in the direction of compassion or not. If we are, then can we reduce the suffering to a minimum? If I lose my direction, I have to look for the North Star, & I go to the north. That does not mean I expect to arrive at the North Star. I just want to go in that direction. If we understand fear as an evolved survival mechanism, we gain some perspective and perhaps some release from our identification with the feeling. We might even arrive at a place where we can bow down to fear, seeing it as a friend who is looking out for our very life. If we find ourselves unworkable and give up on ourselves, then we'll find others ‘unworkable’ & give up on them. What we hate in ourselves, we'll hate in others. To the degree that we have compassion for ourselves, we will also have compassion for others. Having compassion starts & ends with having compassion for all those unwanted parts of ourselves, all those imperfections that we don't even want to look a..

& Compassion isn't some kind of self improvement project or ideal that we're trying to live up to either..

I helped myself. wiped my own tears. put balm over fresh wounds. plastered parts of my heart that still were hurting. gave myself time. read books that soothed my soul. heard music that calmed my nerves. watched movies that made me smile. bit by bit, piece by piece, I put myself back together again. and I gave myself a second chance because I know that if I didn't, then no one else would. With 13LOVE 13paitence 13Wizdome & 13Compassion Comes great expansion on the road to Righteousness.
